2024 Day Skipper theory
A comprehensive introduction for sail and powerboaters. Essential for the Day Skipper practical course. No experience needed. Over 2 long weekends.
Cost:£295 (€345) and includes £50 RYA Pack of charts, exercises and almanac. 3 stage payments. First payment £95/€115. That's all you need to join the course then 2 stage Payments of £100 (€115)
Course date/time: 2 weekends - Fri to Sun, 1-3 March and 15-17 March.
Fri 6 to 9; Sat 9 to 7 Sun 9 to 4 Sun.
17 Course topics including:
- construction, parts and equipment
- safety equipment, procedures, distress
- coastal navigation, position fixing and pilotage
- chartwork and electronic charts
- weather forecasting and meteorology
- tides and tidal streams
- collision regulations
The course helps to provide an excellent knowledge base before attending a practical Day Skipper course.
2024 Yachtmaster theory - 3 weekends
After Day Skipper theory prepare for more advanced power or sail practical courses eg Coastal Skipper or yachtmaster
Cost: £325/€375 and includes £50 RYA Pack of charts, exercises and almanac. 3 stage payments. First instalment £125/€155 and that's all you need to join the course then 2 stage payments £100 (€110)
Course date/ time: 3 weekends Fri to Sun 12 to 14 and 26 to 28 Jan and 9 to 11 Feb
Fri 6 to 9; Sat 9 to 7 Sun 9 to 4 Sun.

- Advanced navigation, position fixing, Pilotage, Passage Planning
- Compass with deviation
